Ashley Armbruster finished her show at moshi moshi with a bang! Capping it off with a field trip of excited and curious children from the school that she works at. They were captivated by her sometimes horrific descriptions of her methods and inspirations. AWESOME!

Moshi Moshi is proud to present the art of the rose city rose buds - a benefit exhibition to help these sensational young ladies acquire equipment and uniforms,
featuring works of art, imagination and other creative output by various team members from January 8th - February 3rd with the opening reception Thursday January 8th 6pm-9pm.

The Rose City Rose Buds are an organization providing opportunities of personal growth and development for young female athletes in our community. By teaching the exciting sport of Jr. Roller Derby they strive to encourage teamwork, confidence, sportswomanship and fun amongst young women as well as developing skating skills, game strategy, teamwork in a supervised, competitive league structure. They pride themselves on being active members of the community through volunteer and fundraising efforts. Her bunny rabbit themed exhibition "Hook'n up" opens here at Moshi Moshi on Thursday April 3rd.

This is what Angela has to say about herself:"For over one hundred glorious years I have been refining my art form from crude pencil sketches to fine oil paintings, finally realizing my dream of painting corny silly things that are barely coherent. When you're a child your thoughts turn to horses, puppies, and large naval battles, you don't give thought to the future. Where will your life take you? How will you ever learn origami? Can I find my shoes today? I look into the face of evil and say "YES!".

So until I succumb to the ravages of age and can no longer be an idiot I will keep painting and maybe one day I'll find my rainbow."

We opened the store to the public for the first time last night with a grand 1st Thursday reception for the I love Mr. T art show to benefit Buckman Elementary. First Thursday is upon us and after a long month of all kinds of horror we will be reopening Moshi Moshi at 6pm, so please come by and tell us what you think of the new location!

This month we have an awesome Mr. T themed group show. Levi Pitters, a ten year-old artist and Mr. T enthusiast, came up with the idea and recruited some of his talented friends to create artwork dedicated to his idol. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of art in this show will be donated to a scholarship fund to help send 5th graders in Levi’s school to Opal Creek – a three day outdoor education program held in June. Mr. T would approve!

The artists featured are: Beau Berkley, Bwana Spoons, Cathy Pitters, Chelsea Fletcher, Cyrus Smith, David Wein, Gregular Pitters, Hilary Pfeifer, Jake Robertson, Juanita, Justin "Scrappers" Morrison, Klutch, Lucy Berkley, Matt Wagner, Martin Ontiveros, Meredith Mathews, Ryan Berkley, Steve Mathews, Tripper Dungan and more!

"Moshi Moshi is movin' across town suckas, probably cuz that crazy fool Murdock is talkin' to his hand again . Looks like Hannibal is on the jazz again and he has this plan to help these kids get to where they are goin - so stop your jibba jabbin and listen up! My friend Levi needs to help his friends to go on a field trip that we could all learn somethin from. We put together a crack team from back in the 'Nam to do some work here so listen up fools and start thinkin about showin up!"

Moshi Moshi will be closed through most of the month of February and will reopen on Thursday March 6th for a Mr. T themed group art show at 916 West Burnside, right in the heart of downtown Portland. Alot of great people are contributing pieces and a portion of the proceeds will go the Opal Creek Scholarship fund for Buckman Elementary School. This is so some kids that may not otherwise be able to afford it can go on a great field trip to Opal Creek and have a great time while learning something worthwhile.
